Résumé

This study, which compares the traditional and digital management of archives in educational institutions, focuses on the extreme importance played by the latter as an intangible capital that guarantees proper educational and administrative governance within these institutions as well as in their relationship with various partners. The study showed that the traditional management of archives renders it rather challenging for the managers of these institutions, the fact that necessitates resorting to digitization, as one of the mechanisms of modern management of archives in the era of electronic globalization. To investigate this hypothesis, the study targeted a sample of elementary and secondary public educational institutions located in both urban and rural areas in the area of Guelmim.  A projective approach was adopted which started by data collection using a form, as a measurement tool, and analyzing it to come up with expressive and reflective conclusions about the status of the archive within the studied samples. This form was addressed to the directors of these institutions and included questions about the status of the archive in their institutions and the way they manage it, in addition to questions on the digital management of this archive in the institutions that approved it.  By comparing the two methods of archive management, the study concluded, that the adoption of digitization contributed greatly to increasing the quality of the latter both quantitatively and qualitatively, which effects positively the administrative and educational productivity of the managers of these institutions.
