Abstract

Although not the first conversational software, the new version of ChatGPT is
quickly adopted by students. Teachers are started worrying, and question how to approach this developing situation. However, according to a recent EDUCAUSE survey, students encounter varying perceptions of generative AI. Some educators or institutions see the use of Generative AI as an academic mutation, which risks destroying the learning process and the notion of
tutoring, while students are hyper-optimistic, and consider it as an intelligent mentor, simple and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In this paper, we try to highlight the potential impact of Generative AI on the educational ecosystem, on the notion of mentoring, intellectual property, the teacher-student relationship, as well as his limitations on various academic disciplines, in particular law, and medicine.
