Abstract

The objective of this paper is to develop a numerical simulation application based on the finite element method under Android. The latter is now available on many devices such as Smartphones, tablets, netbooks and televisions. The utility of this application is to be able to provide an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI), which allows the user to operate it wherever and whenever he wants. In order to design the graphical interface for this finite element analysis application, the configuration of its development environment requires installing a number of software such as the JDK (Java Development Kit), the Eclipse IDE (Integrated Development Environment), the Android SDK (Software Development Kit) and the ADT (Android Development Tool). We point out that all these software are free and available for different platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.). Finally, we present a numerical application of a plane trellis under Smartphone (SAMSUNG) in order to validate our software.
