Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Manuscript Length and Format :

  • Manuscripts should fall within the range of 6,000 to 8,000 words, inclusive of footnotes and bibliographic references.
  • Submit manuscripts in Word format.

General Formatting Standards :

  • Title: Calibri, 12-point, bold font.
  • Author(s): Calibri, 11-point, bold.
  • Affiliations: 11-point font, (laboratory (if applicable), Faculty, university, country), and email address.
  • Abstract: 250-300 words.
  • Entire article text: Calibri, 11-point, single-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

Title and Headings:

  • Bold titles and subtitles, using Arabic numerals (1, 1.1, etc.).
  • Separate titles and numbers with a single space.
  • No indentation.

Text Style :

  • Utilize justified text without hyphens.
  • Single space between paragraphs.
  • Place titles and numbers for figures, charts, pictures, tables, and maps above.
  • Titles and numbers for figures, pictures, and maps should be below.

Citations :

  • Adhere to APA style for in-text citations: author’s last name and the year of publication (e.g., Venuti, 2001). Include the page number for direct quotations (e.g., Venuti, 2001, p. 14).
  • List abbreviations, acronyms, etc. before the bibliography.
  • Use quotation marks for quotes under 40 words. For longer quotes, indent without quotation marks.
  • Employ font size 10 for quotes exceeding 40 words not inserted in the body.
  • Avoid the use of footnotes.

Quotations in Foreign Languages:

  • Translate foreign language quotations into English.
  • Clearly indicate whether you provided the translation or if it is from another source, along with a complete reference.
  • Italicize examples integrated into the text.

References:

  • Follow APA formatting for the references section.

Author Bionote(s):

  • Provide a separate document with 5-6 lines for author bionote(s)/short academic bio.
  • Authors must adhere to these guidelines to facilitate the review and publication process.

ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM :

  • Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works of the authors.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are free from plagiarism and have not been previously published or under consideration elsewhere.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST :

  • Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their research or its interpretation.
  • Editors and reviewers are also required to adhere to conflict-of-interest guidelines to maintain impartiality and objectivity in the review process.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY:

  • The journal adopts an open-access model to ensure the widest possible dissemination of research findings.
  • Authors are required to pay article processing charges (APCs) to cover publication processing costs.

COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING :

  • Authors retain copyright of their published work, with the journal holding a non-exclusive license to distribute and reproduce the article.
  • Creative Commons licensing options is considered to specify reuse permissions and ensure proper attribution.

ETHICAL STANDARDS :

  • The CMS journal upholds the highest ethical standards in academic publishing, following guidelines established by organizations such as COPE and the Committee on Ethics in Publishing (CEP).
  • Ethical considerations, including informed consent, human and animal subjects' protection, and data integrity, is strictly enforced.

EDITORIAL POLICIES AND GOVERNANCE:

  • The CMS journal has clear editorial policies outlining roles and responsibilities of editors, editorial board members, and reviewers.
  • Editorial decisions are based on the merit and relevance of submissions, regardless of authors' affiliations or backgrounds.

ARCHIVING POLICY:

UNIQUE IDENTIFIERS & STRUCTURED DATA

  • The CMS journal employs unique identifiers and structured data to enhance organization and accessibility of its content.
  • Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs): Each article published in the journal is assigned a unique DOI, providing a permanent link to the article regardless of any changes to the journal's website or URL structure.
  • Structured Metadata: The journal incorporates structured metadata for each article, including fields such as title, author(s), abstract, keywords, publication date, and citation information. This structured data enables efficient indexing by search engines and databases.
  • ORCID Integration: Authors are encouraged to include their ORCID iDs when submitting manuscripts to the journal. This unique identifier ensures accurate attribution of authorship and helps establish a clear link between the author and their scholarly output.
  • ORCID Profiles: Authors can create ORCID profiles where they maintain a comprehensive record of their publications, affiliations, funding sources, peer review activities, and other scholarly contributions. Journals may facilitate the creation and maintenance of ORCID profiles for their authors, enhancing the visibility and recognition of their work.
